PermitPrep is committed to keeping your data minimal, anonymous, and under your control. The full version of this policy is below; the short version is that we don't make you create an account, we don't sell your data to anyone, and your quiz answers never leave your device.
What we collect
We collect standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page requested, timestamp, HTTP status) for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic analytics. We use a privacy-respecting analytics provider that does not set cross-site tracking cookies and does not transmit personal identifiers. We do not require you to create an account to use any feature on this site, and we do not collect your name, email address, or phone number unless you choose to email us directly through one of the addresses on the contact page.
Quiz answers
Your quiz answers are processed entirely on your own device for the on-screen score display and per-question explanation. We do not store, transmit, or aggregate your answers in any form. Refreshing or closing the page erases them. This is a deliberate design choice, not a future feature — we have no intention of ever building a server-side answer-storage feature.
Cookies
We set a single first-party session cookie to remember your accessibility preferences (dark mode, font size, reduced motion). We do not set any first-party tracking or advertising cookies. The advertising on this site is contextual — it depends on the topic of the page you are viewing, not on your browsing history across the web.
Advertising
This site is supported by display advertising. Our advertising partners may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising at the industry level via the AdChoices opt-out tool (youradchoices.com) and the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out (optout.networkadvertising.org). We do not use any advertising network that performs cross-device tracking on this property.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for users age 13 and over (younger learners may use the site under direct supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through one of our contact addresses, contact privacy@permitprep.example and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@permitprep.example. EU and UK residents have additional rights under GDPR; California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither, but the right exists). We honor all such requests within 30 days.
Data security
We maintain industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards against unauthorized access. We will notify affected users within 72 hours of confirming any data breach involving personal information.
Changes
We will post any material changes to this policy at the top of this page with a date stamp and a one-line summary of what changed. Continued use of PermitPrep after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
